Ceramic gas nozzles made of silicon nitride from INNOVAERA are far less susceptible than steel nozzles to the high stress levels placed on them during the welding process. The surface of the ceramic material prevents welding drops from adhering to it and reduces slag formation.
Silicon nitride ceramics is superior to other materials due to its thermal shock resistance. It does not deteriorate at high temperatures, so it's used for automotive engines and parts for gas turbines, including the turbocharger rotor.
